Amanda Puga – Praxia Producciones

Director of video clips for Chilean bands and advertising brands.  She directed the documentary Mi norte es el sur premiered in the 67th version of the Mannheim-Heidelbeger Film Festival, Germany, a project that was also made into a book. She has also stood out as a colorist and executive producer of the short films La gambeta (FICV 2020, Cinelatino Toulouse 2021) and Deshabitada (Guadalajara 2021- Rotterdam 2022) among others. On the other hand, she has worked as a production assistant and locations producer for domestic and foreign companies such as The Wheel, Discovery Channel/The Amazing Race, among others.

Amanda arrives at the new edition of Conecta Fiction with El Funeral del Señor Maturana , a fictional comedy directed by her, which is in development and will seek funding during the event.

For us it is super important to come back to Conecta with The funeral of Mr Maturana. During 2022 we made great connections and saw how the project had interest for executives of companies such as Banijay and TeleMéxico. This year, we have the project very much advanced since we won the Strengthening fund which allowed us to produce a teaser, an art deck and rewrite episode 1 of the script allowing us to introduce ourselves to different players.

Alvaro Cabello- Fabula

Chilean producer with extensive experience in the development and production of fiction projects. His portfolio include the national series El Reemplazante and Los Archivos del Cardenal, in addition to the Chilean-Finnish co-production Invisible Heros and the feature film by Santiago Mitre La Cordillera. He currently serves as a development executive at the award-winning Chilean production company Fabula, where he leads the production of development projects for the territories of Chile and Mexico, generating strategic commercial alliances and cultivating relationships with the main buyers of the Latin American market.

In this new edition of Conecta Fiction comes with Superman’s bodyguards, a nonfiction drama directed by Sebastián Radic that is currently under development and will seek funding.

Having the opportunity to go to Conecta Fiction with this documentary miniseries represents a great opportunity for us. Although we are a production company that has become known for its fiction content, we are passionate about the impact that documentary film stories have, especially when they make visible virtuous and hopeful stories such as the protagonists of our story. The Pitch Docuseries market represents a tremendous opportunity to socialize the kind of non-fiction stories that are capturing our attention as creators of original content.

Karina Jury – 17Film

Founder and Executive Director of 17Films and President of the ENC Foundation has specialized in international co-productions, her career as a producer has stood out with films such as Aquí y Ahora (Costa Rica-Chile), Vera de Verdad (Italy-Chile), La Pampa (Peru- Spain-Chile), La California (Italy-Chile) among others. In addition to the transmedia kids’s project Hola Flinko (Chile-Colombia), which has a tv series, live show, app and educational material, present today in Chile, Colombia and Mexico.

She is currently producing several projects that are in different stages among them the film “La Colina” stands out, her first film as a screenwriter and director. Arrives in Conecta Fiction with Hola Flinko, a transmedia animated series for a preschool audience, which is currently in the distribution stage and is in search of platforms.

Conecta is a market that I had the pleasure to experience back in 2022 where we managed to close the co-production agreement for the making of the film “La Puta Vida” with Nephilim of Spain. This year our goal is to expand the distribution of the series “Hola Flinko” to Europe and present the first episode of “Microterrícolas”, as well as celebrate co-production alliances for our new film “La Colina”. The focus of our work has always been on projects that generate bridges between Spain/Italy and Latin America, and Conecta is one of the most propitious places to establish these bridges.

Francisca Díaz – Río Estudios

Film and TV director from the University of Chile. She has specialized in the area of project development based on her collaboration with outstanding Chilean production companies such as Promocine and currently Rio Estudios, where she leads the development of a vast portfolio of fiction projects with international vision.

She comes to Conecta Fiction with La Isla, a fiction thriller directed by Claudia Huaiquimilla, which is currently in script writing and is in search of financing.

It is a tremendous opportunity to participate in Conecta Fiction, since all our projects in development are designed for an international market. Spain is a strategic territory for the type of content we are developing. One of them is the case of the series La Isla, winner of the CNTV 2022 award, set in Chile in the 90s and that integrates Spanish talent and locations organically, among others that we will be presenting.

Sergio Gándara-  Parox

During his career he has been known for producing national exportable content and also for engaging in foreign projects of high level of production and technical scope. In addition, his production stands out in short films and TV series, such as Héroes Invisibles, an ambitious Chilean-Finnish co-production that won the Prix Europe 2019 for Best European Series.

In this edition comes to the market with Los mil días de Allende , a historical drama of fiction, directed by Nicolás Acuña , which is currently in production and will be in search of platforms.

“Conecta Fiction has been an important part of our annual tour for years. Even our “Invisible Heroes” series opened the event in 2019. This year we are pleased to present the advances of “The thousand days of Allende” in a panel together with RTVE, which demonstrates the interest of the global market for Chilean productions and allows us to position the project and generate international connections”
