CHILE IN THE SPOTLIGHT OF THE PLATINOS

In this new edition, Chile continues to excel with its high-level productions and talents, showcasing various talents.

  • “The Count” byPablo Larraín arrives with 6 nominations, placing it just below “The Society of Snow” by Juan Antonio Bayona (Spain) with 7, and on par with the 6 nominations of “Close Your Eyes” by Víctor Erice (Spain). With “The Club” (2016), Pablo Larraín also received the same number of nominations.
  • Alfredo Castro is once again among the nominees, this time for Best Male Performance in “The Thousand Days of Allende” series, directed by Nicolás Acuña. The Chilean actor has previously won 3 Platino Awards for the following films: Best Supporting Actor for “Karnawal” (2022), Best Supporting Actor in “The Prince” (2021), and Best Actor for “Los Perros” (2018). He has also been nominated 6 times.
  • Chile has been consistently present in the Palmarés of this Award, created in 2012 by EGEDA (Audiovisual Producers’ Rights Management Entity) along with FIPCA (Ibero-American Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers). It is no coincidence that the Honorary President of this Award is the Chilean producer Adrián Solar , who was President of FIPCA when this Award was created, and has also been one of its main promoters.
