Chilean audiovisual crossing borders
This month Chile made an impact on the international scene. With The Settlers as a candidate to represent Chile for the Oscars and The Eternal Memory in representation of the country for the Goya Awards which predicts a great future for the local cinematography.
Also during this month the important analysis carried out by CinemaChile was published, making visible the international impact of our audiovisual, where it was revealed that from January to June of this year Chilean films have received 103 Awards during the first semester, 58 more than in 2022.
Chile lands in Europe
An intense and moving September is coming for the Chilean audiovisual. With a delegation of more than 15 Chileans in Venice and a large presence at the San Sebastian Film festival, the national industry is starting to prepare for a month with major international activities.

Chilean Professionals on the rise
25 awards and a powerful message that moves audiences around the world is what Senel Muñoz seeks to convey with his first short film Somos Bullying. CinemaChile had the opportunity to interview the director and learn all the details of this short film that excites festivals around the world.

This month we bid farewell with great sadness to Luis Alarcon, renowned Chilean actor, director and activist, who participated in films by filmmakers Raúl Ruiz , Miguel Littin , Gonzalo Justiniano, among others, participating in 51 films total, as well as 45 iconic soap operas from the 90s where his roles in Marrón glacé and Romané stand out.
During his career he also worked for art, being president of Sidarte and then founder of ChileActores. In life he received about 22 awards, such as the APES, Altazor and Golden Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the most important advertising festival in the world, where Luis made a mark with his character “Indio”.
We hope that his legacy will always live in the memory of Chilean culture.
