Their projects cover a wide range of genres, but with a common factor where the main protagonist is the Chilean landscape and territory.

Discover how they have managed to conquer the local scene with their talent and all the creativity that lead to Venice 2023.

Francisca Barraza – Funky Films

Content Director and Executive Producer at Funky Films, she has participated as an executive producer in the films My Tender Matador and Dry Martina, among others. She also has a portfolio of high quality content and artistic value, including: Pirópolis (Winner of WIP Visions du Réel), In the Shade of Light (World Premiere Sheffield Doc Fest 2023) The Phantom (co-production between Chile, Argentina and Brazil) and Surfing For Seniors (Documentary in Development).

This edition of Venice comes with Pirópolis by Nicolás Molina, a non-fiction located in Valparaíso, which is currently in post-production and will seek sales agents

Venice is so relevant that, regardless of the state of your project, it becomes a fundamental place full of opportunities. I’m excited, as I’m representing an interesting documentary feature film. We will arrive in Venice with the final version of the film and this opportunity could boost the project if we manage to capture the needed interest.

Venice is an important opportunity to open the possibility of our projects with potential European and Latin American co-producersas well as paving the way for new distribution opportunities, and at the same time learning a market that every day has more impact, to be able to share that information to the entire Chilean audiovisual sector

It is very important for us to be able to participate in the market in Venice with our projects. We’re finishing up Pacifico’s Daughter and it’s time to find a sales agent. We also have several films in development, such as Que se Termine Todo directed by Moisés Sepúlveda (who premiered The Illiterate in Venice in a past edition), for which we are looking co-production partners.
