QUICK LOOK MIPCOM AND MIPJUNIOR 2022: FIVE PRODUCTION COMPANIES ARRIVE WITH PROMISING PROJECTS IN CANNES

As we have already told you, new producers arrive in Europe as part of the 38th edition of the International Co-production and Entertainment Content Market. There will be five Chileans -supported by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage. They will attend the world’s largest gathering of television professionals.

They will be present representing their production companies and carrying in their portfolio new projects by directors such as: Nicolás Acuña; Jorge Ovando & César Cabezas; Fernanda Vasquéz ; Jota Loyola and Julio Jorquera, They land in the French Riviera in order to find funding and new co-producing countries interested in developing their series that are expected to be released soon. Sergio Gándara – Parox

 

During his career he has been known for producing national exportable content and also for engaging in foreign projects of high level of production and technical scope. In addition, his production stands out in short films and TV series, such as Invisible Heroes, an ambitious Chilean-Finnish co-production that won the Prix Europe 2019 for Best European Series.

Currently coming to MIPCOM with Allende – The Thousand Days, a fictional series that will envelop viewers in a historic atmosphere. The series is currently in development and is in search of co-producers in the market.

Constanza Miranda  – Estudio Morrón

 

Co-founder of Morrón Estudio, she specialized in the animation studio focused on the creation and realization of original projects, working in the roles of direction, production and also as a professor.

She is currently arriving at MIPJUNIOR with Brad the Bad Guy. Directed by Fernanda Vasquéz, the animated series is in the development stage and will be in search of potential co-producers.

Juan Ramírez – La Ventana Cine

 

With more than 20 years of experience, Juan has produced more than ten documentaries and series in more than 40 countries around the world. His productions have won numerous national and international awards, including an EMMY nomination. He has made productions for the main Chilean and foreign channels, such as TV Asahi, Univision, ARTE, and also co-productions with Armenia, Scotland, Colombia, among others.

In this edition of MIPCOM, Jota Loyola’s Antarctic Mission project stands out. A non-fiction that will mix science and adventure. It is currently in post-production and will be looking for a Broadcaster in the market.

  María Elena Wood- Maria Wood Producciones

 

Producer and documentary filmmaker, of successful productions and fiction series including News of a Kidnapping (2022), based on the homonymous book by Gabriel García Márquez; Dignity (Cannes Series 2020 selection and Grimme Preis) and Ramona (2017) Best drama series at the Biarritz Film Festival, among others.

 

Her career has featured in developing and producing film and television projects for different markets, with clients and partners such as Amazon Studios, ZDF Studios, The MediaPro Studio, Sony Pictures, Sony Music, Freemantle, Nadcon (Germany) and Mediacrest (Spain).

In this edition of MIPCOM she comes with Patagonian Winds by Julio Jorquera, a fictional thriller that is in the process of scriptwriting and will seek for a Broadcaster.

 

 

César Cabezas  – Gecko Animación

 

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of Animation, he has worked on many projects, from children’s series to advertising spots, short films and films, for both Chile and Latin America. These include Papelucho y El Marciano and international films such as El Arca in Argentina and La Leyenda de Nahuala in Mexico.

In this new edition of MIPCOM he comes with Galactic Puppy, a co-directing project with Jorge Ovando which is in post-production and will be in the market in search of distribution agents.
