Your favorite monthly recap! During these two months before the end of this 2022 we will have lots of emotions and meeting events coming up in our lives.

Since we know that there are frenetic periods on the rise, then you deserve to know of the latest news of the Chilean audiovisual, did you have something pending in October?  Like every month, we do this recap with a lot of love, so you don’t miss out on what we told everyone.

 

 

 

 

Weeks before the start of the most important Latin American audiovisual market, we began to prepare our attendance with a large presence commanded by more than 25 Chileans.

The national delegation stands out by being one of the largest to attend in this international market, taking a well deserved spot in sections like: BLOOD WINDOW,  ANIMATION! SESIONES DE PITCHING Series, PITCH MENTORING PROGRAM FOR FEMALE DIRECTORS, PROYECTA, PUNTO GÉNERO, EL PRINCIPIO DEL FILM, MAQUINITAS LET’S PITCH, PITCH DOC SUR IN POSTPRODUCTION and SPANISH SCREENINGS ON TOUR – Work in progress, among others.

​​In the run-up to the end of the year, we begin to experience different emotions and narratives to close a marked year of successes and events in the Chilean audiovisual. Grieta Cine co-founders direct their first documentary together!

Gabriela Pena has dedicated herself to the production of documentary films, fiction and new formats, standing out for her work in festivals and platforms such as DocsBarcelona Valparaíso, FICVIÑA, Mediamorfosis and VOD Ondamedia.

Picho Garcia begins his journey together with Gabriela, to premiere their debut film. The producer has had an enriching career for 6 years at the Viña del Mar International Film Festival and his work as a producer at AUSTRALAB and the DocsBarcelona Valparaíso Festival.

After the first feature-length documentary Zoila, directed by Gabriela and produced by Picho Garcia, they return to work together, not only as partners, but from the directing roles with Aquí se Escucha el Silencio.

The documentary was awarded the Sundance Institute documentary fund and was one of the ten projects selected in the (Egg)Celerator Lab of Chicken & Egg Pictures, in its 2022 edition, also obtaining funding for their film.
