We invite you to immerse yourself and be part of the intense and exciting 6 days of the second edition of CinemaChile Market Lab. Here we tell you about the winners, attendees and all the behind the scenes!

A remarkable atmosphere of knowledge and new possibilities of network were experienced during these 6 days at the Extension Center of Santiago, of the Pontifical Catholic University concluding with a record attendance of 330 people , an online follow-up of 416 and more than 1000 views.

In the same line of great landmarks were awarded four film projects and series:

• Debut film Hijas únicas by Alba Gaviraghi, whose prize is to attend the Industry Club of the San Sebastian International Film Festival from 19 to 21 September (Spain).
• The project series Los tormentas by Francisco Parra, who will have the opportunity to present his project at Iberseries Platino Industria to be held in Madrid from 27 to 30 September.
• Honorable mention was given to the feature film project Mi familia es un cuento de otra memoria by Francisca Peró, which will have special consultancies for internationalization by Apct and CinemaChile.
• Special Award New Voices and Dissidents, consisting of script advice, awarded by the script expert and international guest, Yolanda Barrasa to the project Disforia Fútbol Club by Inti Lorca.

CINEMACHILE MARKET LAB IN THREE WORDS

This year the focus was on scriptwriting for which there were 4 MasterClasses offered by the international expert Yolanda Barrasa, and also 2 MasterClasses: Positioning of the TV series offered by Angela Poblete and International Distribution given by Gabriela Sandoval and Alexandra Galvis so that the 14 projects that were selected -9 films and 5 series- could strengthen their development and thus opt during the final stage of pitch to one of the prizes.

THE FINAL PITCH

The closing ceremony took place at the Cineteca Nacional of the Cultural Center La Moneda, where the film jury was composed by the producer Alexandra Galvis and the directors Jorge Riquelme, Roberto Doveris and Hugo Covarrubias. In the case of the series the jury was formed by Carolina Fuentes, Ana María Nuñez, Daniel Castell.

“These kinds of experiences are enriching, even for jury members. The projects were of a very high level, it was difficult to deliberate,” said Hugo Covarrubias.

The 4 winners of the second edition of Cinemachile Market Lab

After the intense and exciting days of training and masterclasses, four projects were selected to be winners of this second edition. All in different stages of development shaped and gave vision of these new voices that are beginning to be enhanced and those we hope to see soon on the big screen and platforms.

HIJAS ÚNICAS, FEATURE FILM DIRECTED AND PRODUCED BY ALBA GAVIRAGHI “This is the first time it has been presented in Chile as a project. We hope to reach a co-production with Spain, which is the focus of the participation in San Sebastian”

LOS TORMENTA, SERIES DIRECTED BY FRANCISCO PARRA: “First time I have participated in one of these instances and I think the important thing is what we have to show. Hopefully we will come back with a co-producer, someone to get involved in the project with us and help us produce.”

MI FAMILIA ES UN CUENTO DE OTRA  MEMORIA, A DOCUMENTARY DIRECTED BY FRANCISCA PERÓ: “I am grateful for this honorable mention. It is a very personal story, but universal at the same time”

DISFORIA FÚTBOL CLUB, DOCUMENTARY DIRECTED BY INTI LORCA: “It is important to talk about identities and that they be stories told by us, this brings us hope that it will be realized soon”

AN INNOVATIVE FUTURE!

Of the 14 projects that were part of this new edition, together with the more than 300 attendees in face-to-face and online format, we were able to discover the new regards and towards where the new voices of the Chilean audiovisual are going. Authors who explore new formats, stories that combine genres and that have not stopped innovating in their aesthetic and narrative resources, giving rise to original stories with points of view characterized by their critical and reflective eye that leave us eager to know what the next works will be.
