Six chilean production companies land in one of europe’s most important audiovisual markets. Afro Films and DeCulto participate with the support of Chile’s Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage through its International Market Participation Fund.
Chilean talent continues to cross borders. The ninth edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, now firmly established as one of the leading international markets for television, introduces two new pitching sections this year and Chile will take part in both, with projects that highlight the creative maturity and international ambition of its storytelling.

The event, scheduled for June 16–19 at the José Luis Perales Auditorium Theater in Cuenca (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain), is a professional market focused on the creation, development, production, financing, broadcast, marketing, and commercialization of television content.
“Chile’s participation in Conecta 2025 strengthens our strategic and active presence in the places where the stories of the future are being shaped today. It’s a milestone that reflects the ongoing work of our production companies and speaks to the positioning we’ve achieved as a country within the global audiovisual landscape,” says Alexandra Galvis, co-director of CinemaChile.
This year’s edition brings key innovations designed to meet the current demands of the market. Two new pitching sections will debut: Pitch Direct to Streaming Movies, focused on feature films created specifically for streaming platforms. In this category, Chile will participate with La puta vida, a Chilean-German co-production directed and produced by Sebastián Araya (Afro Films).
This serialized film follows Emma, a 50-year-old woman traveling through northern Chile in search of a new future, and Olga, 40, who is running from her past. As the two women embark on a journey together, love emerges. But they’re being followed by Jairo, a 45-year-old hitman whose mission is to kill Olga.

This section showcases fiction feature films currently in development, all conceived for direct release on streaming platforms. The goal is to address the specific programming needs of these services, which act as the films’ primary or exclusive window of distribution.
In the Pitch Copro Series section, where producers present series in development to attract partners and potential financing, Chile will be represented with another co-production—this time with Spain—titled Divinas Jubiladas.
Created by Ronald Heim, the series tells the story of four lifelong friends who buy a dream home where they plan to retire and grow old together. But their idyllic retirement quickly turns into a nightmare when they accidentally kill a young waiter they had hired to serve cocktails by the pool.

Projects selected in this section are eligible for various awards presented by industry-leading companies and institutions.
In this new edition of Conecta Fiction & Entertainment—an event that plays a key role in the internationalization of film and television projects—three Chilean companies will receive support from Chile’s Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage through the International Market Participation Program (CAIA), with strategic backing from ProChile: DeCulto (led by Hernán Caffiero) and Afro Films (headed by Sebastián Araya).

Also joining the Chilean delegation are several other production houses: Mazal Producciones, represented by its Head of Content Ronald Heim; Atómica Films, led by General Director Gonzalo Carracedo; Fabula, represented by Project Director Álvaro Cabello; and Picardía Films, with Executive Director and Producer Diego Rougier.
