We arrive for the fourth time at Conecta Fiction, one of the most important markets for serial content, where the Chilean delegation will be present with 3 projects selected in different Pitching categories and 8 production companies present in the market.
The 7° edition from 26 to 29 June brings a diversity of animation, fiction and non-fiction proposals, as well as important networking events and meetings organized by the CinemaChile brand.
At the same time, 5 producers who make up the CAIA delegation will attend the market, supported by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, with the goal of reaching agreements and alliances that will allow them to finalize their promising projects.

The bodyguards of Superman (Docudrama Series) ; Numana (High-End Series) and Chopin the series (Music Series) will be the 3 Chilean projects present in the Pitch competitions of Conecta Fiction 2023 along with other countries such as Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, Finland, Israel, United States, United Kingdom and Ireland.
The goal is that these projects are presented to television channels, streaming platforms, producers and other representatives of the audiovisual industry, with the possibility of applying for various awards offered by different companies and institutions, both Spanish and international.
Directed by Sebastián Radic and produced by Fabula (Daniel Castell and Álvaro Cabello), it tells how in 1987, the American actor Christopher Reeve, travels to Chile to help 78 artists threatened with death. The delirious act crosses borders and perhaps helps open the doors for democracy in the country. The project is under development and will be seeking funding.
An original idea by screenwriters Jesica Aran and Soledad Velasco, produced by Clara Films (Clara Larraín), which portrays 2069, the year in which Alex and Mia are commissioned babies. Alex has flaws, but not Mia. When they change places by accident they must overthrow Numana, the company that created them and today dominates the world. The project is under development and will be seeking funding.
Alex Balassa (Chile) presents as a showrunner the story of a Polish composer who becomes a persecuted exile after using his music to incite an uprising against imperial Russia. By joining forces with a virtuous Hungarian, they become the first rockstars with the power to demolish the Romanovs. The project is under development and in search of platforms.

The meeting that will take place in Toledo, will feature an intense and promising program for Chileans onsite and the 8 production companies will be part of panels, meetings and workshops to enhance their projects in portfolio.

Within this delegation that goes to the market of Conecta, also stand out the 5 companies supported by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage : Fabula, Praxia Producciones, Rio Estudios, Parox and 17Films.
In addition to being in the Pitch Music Series, Balassa Films will also arrive in Conecta with Dear Eszter, a fiction about Eszter, a woman who becomes a performer, a mechanic who loves poetry during the Chilean dictatorship, and a cellist who works cleaning the mail in Budapest during the Goulash communism. It’s under development and looking for platforms.
Clara Larraín and Jesica Arán will represent the production company and their project, Numana, that will be participating in the Pitch High-End Series that will take place on Tuesday, June 27 – 10.00h to 11.00h in Sala Toledo.
Macarena Cardone Cardone and Matías Cardone will represent Daughter of fortune. Directed by Andrés Wood, the story is situated in the nineteenth century. Eliza seeks her boyfriend in the California Gold Rush. Issues like feminism and immigration are intertwined in this story by Isabel Allende. In development and looking for platforms.
Daniel Castell and Álvaro Cabello will represent the company and their project, The bodyguards of Superman, that will be participating in the Pitch Docudrama Series that will take place on Wednesday, June 28 – 16.30h to 17.30h in Sala Toledo.
The company arrives at Conecta Fiction with El funeral del señor Maturana. A comedy directed by Amanda Puga Salman, tells of a law firm that swindles the entire country by inventing a fake event, whose entrance costs a fortune, to pay posthumous tribute to a rich man who never existed. This project seeks funding.
Francisca Díaz will be representing the La isla project. A sci-fi thriller to be directed by Claudia Huaiquimilla that tells of the disappearance of the heir of a Spanish tycoon, which gives way to a disturbing find: a secret island inhabited by otherworldly beings. It is in the script writing stage and also goes to the market for funding.
One of the most advanced projects (already in production) is Los mil días de Allende directed by Nicolás Acuña, and behind it is the production company Parox, represented on this occasion by Sergio Gándara. A historical drama and political thriller, which puts the narrative axis in the last years of life of Chilean President Salvador Allende. In their case they also come to find platforms.
The production company returns to Conecta, this time with Hola flinko directed by Isabel Rosemblatt. An original transmedia preschool project on endangered animals. A visual and sound journey through Latin America, its rhythms and its fauna, together with Flinko and his parents. It is in the distribution phase and looking for platforms.
