We are excited to share with you a monthly round-up of the best and brightest moments that April has had to offer.  Here you can take a look at some of last month’s gems, including news that flew under the radar, our highlighted features, what was HEARD on Oscar night and more. THAT’S A WRAP on April and we can’t wait to keep shining a light on Chilean creators in May, bringing their talent directly to your fingertips.

With so much going on in virtual platforms and digital news sources, sometimes it’s easy to miss out on key info. Here we quickly bring together some of the month’s landmarks so you never again have to worry about not being on top of your Chilean industry scoop!

The Mole Agent made history with its spectacular Oscar run, we delved into new and consecrated voices in Chilean animation, and we sat down to talk to the team of “Gaucho Americano”, Nicolas Molina’s new doc selected in HOT DOCS 2021!  launching a new podcast

This conversation inaugurates our new Spotify podcast, CinemaChileTalks, a series of interviews with internationally renowned directors, actors and actresses, and more! Follow us on our social media platforms and share this podcast using #CinemaChileTalks and if you want to see these and other interviews that will also be available on our YouTube channel CINEMACHILE.

We are still so elated after The Mole Agent’s special night at the Oscars. Sergio Chamy, our beloved detective and stellar protagonist of 2The Mole Agent” summed up his feelings after the ceremony ended.

We are saddened by the death of two icons of Chilean theater and film: Óscar Castro (1947-2021) actor and playwright who left a legacy marked by exile cinema and Siboney Lo Chávez (1978-2021), winner of the Palme d’Or of Cine de Latino de Miami as best Latin American actress in 2003, for her role in El Leyton by Gonzalo Justiniano. These two great actors leave an inescapable legacy, which we will miss and honor forever.
