Diego Céspedes

Diego Céspedes (24) graduated from Universidad de Chile in 2017, after having studied Filmmaking. In 2015, during his third year of studies, he was responsible for the cinematography and editing of the short film Non Castus, which received a special mention from the jury at the Locarno Festival and was selected to film festivals such as Rotterdam, La Habana, SANFIC, Valdivia, amongst others. In 2017, he wrote and directed his first short film, El Verano del Leon Electrico, which went on to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival’s Cinefondation. This was the only Chilean audiovisual piece included in the 71st edition of this film event. Working with the production company AGOSTO Cine, he is currently developing and writing his first feature-length film, entitled Los Flamencos Tropicales. He also works as Professor’s Assistant for Alicia Scherson and Pepa San Martin at Universidad de Chile, and as a cinematographer for other projects.
